First Post, Thoughts on Botched Storm, Wednesday's Snow
If you aren't a fan of snow and ice, rejoice. The snow and ice, for the most part, missed us. We received a bit of rain Tuesday (0.22 here, don't know about airport), but that's about it. Meanwhile, states such as Ohio get hammered with 18 in+ snows and blizzard conditions. (Totals from the Cleveland, OH NWS office can be found here)
Wednesday, the storm moved north and east, slamming NYC with 4" of sleet and around an inch of snow. We weren't completely left out here, however. Temperatures plummeted early in the morning, and sleet began to fall at 6:30 AM. By 7:15 AM, the sleet had switched to snow, and a heavy snow at that. We soon had a dusting, and by 9:00 AM, an inch to two inches had fallen. Flurries continued throughout the day. By mid-afternoon, the upslope snowfall started to kick in, resulting in an extra 0.25"-1.00"
