Cold, Cold, COLD!

Regardless of how cold it is, we cannot keep snow on the ground. It got up to 30F today, with clouds and sun. The sun killed it all. I was really hoping for at least a half-inch leftover for this weekend's snow to fall on.

The clouds kept us a bit warmer than I anticipated last night. I recorded a low of 19.2F, and my forecast was 14F. The high was spot on, as I only hit 30F today.

The weekend event is still looking strong. Prime upslope areas (mainly west-facing slopes) have the potential for 5-6 inches. My complete prediction is below.

Tonight
-Mostly cloudy. A few flurries are possible. Low 20F >2500 FT, 15F-20F 2500+ Ft.
Friday
-Mostly cloudy. A flurry or two is possible. High 34F >2500 FT, 31F 2500+ FT.
Weekend
-Saturday and Sunday are both looking cold. The high Sunday may not get out of the 20's. A clipper will bring the potential for the first prolonged period of snow this year. The snow should begin Saturday afternoon and last through the night. On Sunday, leftover snow showers will produce a little more accumulation. Upslope snows will be where much extra accumulation will occur. My call for accumulation: >2500 Ft: 1"-4"; 2500+ FT: 4"-5" w/ isolated 6+".

Please be cautious during your morning commute. Melted snow may cause black ice. Granted, we only received the equivalent of .2" of liquid precipitation, but the potential is still there.
