Area of Rain & Thunderstorms Impacting W NC

An area of rain is moving through Western North Carolina. The area is associated with a line of thunderstorms currently moving through Tennessee. It is moving northeast at 20-25 MPH. Watch out for heavy rain, as well as some small hail, gusty winds, and vivid lightning.

Expect the area of rain to impact NW NC by 5:45 PM...moving out of Western North Carolina by 6:15 PM.

This area has put down some pretty good one-hour rainfall totals. Expect rainfall rates of .50" to 1.25" within the heaviest areas of rain.
