Strong Thunderstorms Affecting the Area

Strong thunderstorms are developing ahead of a cold front that will bring rain and thunderstorms later this evening.

The airmass is unusually moist, and the sun has been out in most locations, which has destabilized the atmosphere. This is combining to give the storms an extra bit of zing.

Watch out for torrential rain, gusty winds, hail, and vivid lightning.
