Rain Beginning to Exit NE TN; A Few Features to the North
Some much-needed rain is exiting NE TN. Scattered showers and thunderstorms formed a line earlier tonight in SW VA...and moved into the area. The east end of that line has weakened significantly...however, the west end still has some sting to it. That is now off into Morristown/Hamblen County.
There are a few small areas of rain to the north, trying to enter SW VA. That MAY hold together and move into the area later...as a patch of light rain.
As promised, the rain hit many drought-stricken areas, including several that haven't seen measurable precipitation this week. AppalachianWX's rain gauge collected 1.32" of rain for the day. Much of that came from a thunderstorm that stalled out over top of us.
Scattered thunderstorms will once again be the area of focus tomorrow. Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible...mainly across southern NC.
