A Cold, Clear Night Ahead!
The front that pushed through last night brought chilly temperatures today. Tonight will be cold for early March, with lows dipping into the lower 20's. Fortunately, the wind has died down, so windchills shouldn't be a big factor. Tomorrow should be a nice day, although a bit on the cool side. Highs will reach into the middle 50's with sunny skies dominating. Tuesday will be a bit cooler, but still sunny.
A clipper will dive south from Canada. The GFS is suggesting it reaches far enough south to bring temperatures below freezing with snow showers late Wednesday afternoon. I do not believe this to be correct. Nonetheless, I will monitor this.
A front moving southeast could bring a few thunderstorms to the area by Saturday or Sunday. Other than this, it looks dry the next 10 days.
The NAO does not look as if it will return to negative any time this winter. A wet snow event or two is still not out of the question, however. Late March and early April look especially stormy, as the overall pattern threatens to become active once again. Could we FINALLY get cold air and moisture together? Or is it too little, too late?
