Rain Dissipating; Few Showers Possible Overnight

A cold front moving toward the region pushed an area of much-needed rain and thunderstorms into Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. A few showers remain across the area, and this should continue overnight.

Subsequently, a spinning disturbance moved into southwestern North Carolina, dumping quite a bit of rain. However, the disturbance has diminished significantly. Don't expect much more rain across southwestern North Carolina.

We recorded 1.89" of rain. Below is the area-wide radar estimate.
