Thunderstorms...Some Severe...Through the Night
As promised, here's my second post regarding tonight's thunderstorm event. Current dew points are in the 50's and 60's. Storms are "popping" ahead of the fast-moving front, mainly to our east, west, and south. A few cells are making into the westernmost "viewing area." I wouldn't be surprised to see a severe thunderstorm watch issued for at least part of the area. (Eastern Kentucky is already under a watch)
The line of severe storms has held up well thus far. I'm sticking to my original forecast...thunderstorms, some strong to severe. Be alert for gusty winds, hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Tornadoes do not appear to be an issue.
If there are any big changes in forecast models and the Storm Prediction Center's forecasting, I will issue a revised forecast. Please, stay safe tonight.
